Graduate Programmes

Q Hotels has three graduate programmes for 2012 to develop our managers of the future and grow our own talent.

Events Sales Graduate Programme

Events plays a huge part in our business and joining this fast track programme will guarantee you a place in our future management team.

Beginning with an intensive 4 week training programme where you will learn about our systems, standards and sales and commerciality skills you will then go back to your chosen hotel to start your “real life” work experience as an Events Coordinator.  

Whilst in the role of Events Coordinator you will be undertaking daily duties such as client show rounds, reactive and proactive selling, liaison with the operational side of the business as well as spending some time actually seeing how an event runs and how we make sure we deliver the exceptional service that Q Hotels are renowned for.

Once you have been with us for six months or so we will give you further training on Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management then the rest of your career is up to you!

You can expect to eventually become a Reception Manager, Revenue Manager or move into a senior management role.

Front Office Graduate Programme

Front Office is the hub of the hotel where creating a great first impression is of paramount importance. Beginning with an intensive 4 week fast track induction programme you will learn to use our rooms management system – Protel, systems, standards and procedures as well as Sales and revenue training to set you off in the right direction for a successful future with us in Front Office.

You will then return to your chosen hotel to “hit the ground running” in a Receptionist role. You will also spend some time in other Front Office departments such as Concierge or in Reservations to learn the hands on skills that make sure that every guest who stays with us experiences the exceptional “One of a Kind” service that Q Hotels are renowned for.

Once you have successfully completed your first six months with us we will give you further training on Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management then the rest of your career is up to you!

You can expect to eventually become a Reception Manager, Revenue Manager or move into a senior management role.

Operational Management Graduate Programme

Operations is where it all happens in hotels and this programme is designed to launch you into a successful career in this key part of the business.

As with the other graduate programmes – you will begin with a first week of induction which will cover our systems, procedures and standards in all the hotel operations departments.

You will then join your chosen hotel in an operative level role in Food and Beverage or Events Operations to begin to get to know us as a business. You will learn the “hands on skills” that make sure that every guest who stays with us experiences the exceptional “One of a Kind” service that Q Hotels are renowned for.

After six months we will bring you back for some further training on Finance and Management skills then you will rejoin your base hotel in a supervisory role.

You can expect to eventually become a Resident or Operations Manager, Food and Beverage or General Manager.

Graduate fast track programmes are advertised in January and May from 2012.

Assessment days for shortlisted candidates take place in February and June with successful applicants being offered positions in March and July.

Programmes start in April and August 2012.
