Student Placements

New for 2012 – our placements are now linked to our three graduate programmes!

As part of your placement with Q you will have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of departments within the business from operational departments like Food and Beverage to support departments like Finance, Sales and Human Resources.

What you do is up to you – as part of the recruitment process, you will be expected to negotiate the areas that you want to experience within your chosen hotel and sell yourself as the perfect placement student.

You will join us at operative level and once you get started – the rest is up to you!!

If you have a successful placement with us then you will be offered a place on one of the three graduate programmes that we run in either  Events Sales, Front Office or Operational Management.  

What you’ll get

Training and development will be the main focus of your placement with opportunities to not only undertake statutory training related to your placement but you will also be able to attend at least two of our bespoke Q training courses whilst working for us.

This will enable you to add to the experience and knowledge that you gain from the practical aspects of your placement and develop your marketability for the future.

‘On the job’ training will play a large part of in your placement experience and being flexible will enable you to experience many more aspects of the business and be part of the daily running of the hotel.

Regular performance reviews will help to focus you on set objectives with actions to achieve within a target date giving you the opportunity to receive constructive feedback from experts in the field and gain support and coaching in the areas where you need further development.

Finally we will place you in a base department so you feel part of the team and also assign you a mentor to coach and support you whilst working with us.

Corporate uniform is provided and you get paid too!!

48 week Placements are advertised from November to April each year. Most placements start in September.
