JOB DESCRIPTION
EXPERIENCED BAR ASSISTANTS REQUIRED
Reporting to:
Food and Beverage Services Manager
PRIMARY
ACCOUNTABILITY:
To have knowledge of all food and beverage items served in the department and to ensure that customers receive the highest levels of service at all times
Key accountabilities:
Daily Operations
To serve guests and customers drinks and food in the bar and to offer a table service in the lounge and on ‘The Terrace Bar’
To ensure that the bar, tables, chairs and ashtrays are kept clear and clean at all times.
Be responsible for the ordering/requisition of barrels and bottles on a daily basis where this is required at sufficient levels to ensure shelves are stocked
To ensure all glasses washed and polished and stored correctly, before being offered to a guest/customer
To maintain the constant supply of ice/cherries and sliced oranges/lemons/
To ensure the correct preparation and service of cocktails
To ensure that pre-dinner ‘nibbles’ (olives/nuts) are prepared and distributed throughout bar service areas.
To report any hazards or faulty equipment to the Bar Manager/Supervisor
Customer Service
To deal with all customer and guest comments or complaints and to pass on
any relevant information to your Supervisor.
To be polite & courteous to all guests and visitors to the hotel at all times.
To adhere to the QHotels Customer Charter
Communication
To attend and actively contribute towards monthly departmental meetings
Revenue
To upsell whenever appropriate when selling food and beverages
Training & Development
To actively contribute towards your Personal Performance Plan
To attend any training sessions as advised by your HOD or Training Officer
Health & Safety
To maintain hygiene standards at all times whilst cleaning any areas in your department
To adhere to any cleaning rotas and to sign them off when completed
To attend all legally required training courses.
To advise your Health & Safety representative of any concerns
Security
Ensuring guests signatures are on all dockets when a guest is charging to a room
To be accountable for any keys and cash signed for at the start of each shift
To be accountable for your till card
Appearance
To maintain personal hygiene standards at all times
To adhere to the QHotels Personal Grooming Standards at all times whilst in
the hotel
To wear the correct uniform, in good condition whilst on duty and in the
hotel and to take responsibility for the uniform whilst off-duty
Policies & Procedures
Awareness of and adherence to all QHotels policies and procedures such as
- House rules and code of conduct
- Absence, Disciplinary & Grievance, Performance Management
