Job Description

Ashford International Hotel, part of the QHotels group is looking for a highly motivated Bar Supervisor with excellent communication, customer service and leadership skills to assist the Restaurant and Bars Manager in leading and motivating the team and ensure customer satisfaction is exceeded.

The role will involve:

· To oversee the efficient and effective serving of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests.

· To meet all of the requirements of licensing and health & safety legislation.

· To apply efficient stock management systems incorporating stock levels, rotation and security and to alert management of any discrepancies.

· The creation, implementation and measurement of standard operating procedures.

· To actively encourage customer feedback through engagement and to positively deal with any complaints in a pro-active fashion.

· To implement up-selling initiatives through sales promotions, service techniques and bar entertainment activities.

· To undertake the role of duty manager when required and any other duty as required by senior management.

· To ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained for all areas of bar lounge, bar service area and cellar.

· Ensuring effective communication is maintained with the Bar, Restaurant, Kitchen and all other departments to ensure that the quality of service and food and drink offered meets and exceeds QHotels standards.

· Maintaining staff welfare and morale at all times.

· Providing various relevant trainings to the staff.

· Ensuring the Bar is adequately staffed at all times taking into consideration the volume of business.

The role is full time, 40 h/week over 5 days from Monday to Sunday (various shifts inc weekends)

Our expectations:

· Bar experience at a supervisory level is a must (Hotel Bar experience would be an advantage)

· Experience of handling complaints and dealing with the public

· You should have some experience maintaining standards, achieving targets and objectives

· Experience delegating tasks and administration

· Ability to work a variety of shifts including early, late, weekends and evenings and split shifts

· Advanced or Native English
